PROGIS Logistic: A Product developed with Users - for Users!
PROGIS Logistic is a customised geographic information system application, that allows different lines of agricultural business (e.g. sugar-beet harvesting) to connect computer-assisted and optimise specific sequences (e.g. harvest scheduling, control, planning, costing, invoicing). This system allows machinery syndicates and also agricultural service supply agencies
Our logistic system is in chief a configurable logistic system, that can be very fast adapted to individual solutions (e.g. forest, bio gas, etc.). It is also applicable for the building industry, transport companies and local suppliers etc.
Advantages:
The location of machinery in operation are spatially correct visualised, that enables better decisions on their employment. Their routes are scheduled based on the central dispatcher parameters. In order to modifications can be done by the driver of the machines to react to local circumstances. Thereby the optimal balance between central planning and e.g. harvesting is achieved, without any loss of information or time. Data communication between the centre and the jobber eliminates lengthy telephone calls and provides always accurate status information, which is combined with spatial data used for visualisation. That advantages provide an enormous time reduction and in series saving of costs.
Efficiency:
The logistic system is a customised GIS-application, that collect data on an individual map. After documentation, of all for an activity (e.g. harvesting) necessary plots, the routes will be planned on the central application. Several routes can be saved for each machine individually and can be transferred via internet to the mobile terminal. Prior start of work all machines receive on their mobile terminals the daily route showing the current position and the next plot that has to be processed. The parameters “start of work” and “work finish” are entered via touch screen, thus the central system has always the status quo of all drivers. Specific plot parameters are indicated with symbols on the map, that are transferred via GSM to the central system and make it possible to plan next steps efficiently. At last all documented data (e.g. driver, driving time per field, whole driving time, etc.) are transferred to the central and can provide a basis for e.g. accounting.

- an easy and efficient documentation of plots,
- the optimisation of daily and seasonal routing,
- accurate information of harvest status information for job-scheduling
- GPS position data visualisation,
- consistent data flow (e.g. of scheduling and work-in-progress information) between the central station “PROGIS Logistic” and the mobile terminals on the machines (e.g. harvester, collectors and lorries)
- communication between the central and mobile terminals runs via GPRS and/or UMTS
